Scratch and Sniff

Tart and Tangy is a set with a strawberry, cherries, apple, and orange. It is 12.95 and will be retiring June 30th. It is perfect for the scratch and sniff technique. Use unsweetened koolaid mix and clear embossing powder with versamark and classic ink.

The Open Sea/Nautical Expedition

I got this set and designer paper from the mini catalog and have been playing. The last picture is the inside of the card. The second card is taken directly from pg 10 of the mini catalog with minor changes. I used the bakers twine also. The designer paper is so much nicer in real life than it is shown in the catalog.

Happy Birthday to Me

I celebrated my birthday with my stamp club, but gave them the gift (free shipping) if they brought me a card. I asked them to not write inside of them, so I could use them for my missionary cards. Check out the fun cards I got!!

Red Glimmer paper challenge

I asked my club members to punch either a flower or a heart from the glimmer paper and take tit home to make a card. This is what they came up with. Lots of fun ideas.

I'm Back

I'm back. My computer was down for 5 weeks and I lost everything on my hard drive including pictures.  Then when I tried to post, I couldn't get anything to post. I asked on Splitcoaststampers as well as the blogger forum and someone finally gave me an answer to fix things.

Happy Birthday to my Valentine!

The photo is from Christmas.

32 years ago we had our first lovely daughter. Quite an accomplishment with me only being 39 don't you think!! Her due date was 2/12, but she waited until Valentine's Day to put in an appearance. Now she is a mother to 4 and starts the Esthetician program at La James on Wed. How soon before I can come in for a facial?

Sale-A-Bration Goodies

I got the Ice Cream Parlor paper and Ribbon and Button pack FREE with my last order. Today I finally had time to play. This is actually one of the cards that we are going to make Sat at stamp club. I love bright colors, and this one definitely fits the bill. The photo does not do it justice!!
With each $50 purchase you have your choice from: 4 stamp sets, Chalkboard Decor Element, Ribbon and Button pack, Ice Cream Parlor DSP with 2 pages of adhesive die cuts, or all of the items as a download for My Digital Studio. There are also many stamps from the Idea Book and Catalog to choos from as well. You only have until 3/31 to take advantage of this great offer! So
call or email to schedule your own party or get your order in.

My NEW Favorite stamp set and punch combo

I have to say that this punch is my absolute favorite. I have an earlier post with several stamped samples, but I decided to try it with some designer paper (DSP). These are all made using retired paper, but I have another one in progress with the new Ice Cream Parlor DSP FREE from sale-a-bration. No the flowers are not true to nature, so if that bothers you, just use the stamp set as well. But this is an easy way to use some of that stash of paper that you've been hoarding! Yes you, I know you hoard paper!! So get busy.

Cased from catalog page 17

I liked the card on page 17, so decided to copy it, but I used wild wasabi instead of old olive. Then I improved on the original by adding a pearl eye.

Teabag card

Cut cardstock in half lengthwise. Score at 1 3/4" from one end and 3 7/8' from the other end. The two folds will slightly overlap. Use sticky strip to fasten the bottom fold to hold the teabag. This is a nice card to send to someone who is under the weather or adapt it for any tea drinking friend. I used the same design as my sister did for her teabag card, see that card that I just added to the post "I am so proud of my sister".

Bargello technique

The technique is best done using stripes. I used the new springtime vintage designer paper from the Occasions mini for this card. The gathered victoria lace trim adds a vintage feel to this card. The butterflies add some whimsy.

This card uses paper from Greenhouse gala. If I were doing it again, I wouldn't use quite so much dsp.

SUPER STAMP SALE

I have been a Stampin'up! demonstrator for 8 1/2 yrs now and have lots of retired product. So I am having a big sale Sat 1/22 from 11am-2pm with food, door prizes, and a make and take. See "retired items for sale" page just under my header for more info. I just typed a list of all stamp sets that I have for sale. They are divided into hostess sets, sale-a-brations sets, hostess appreciation sets, background stamps, and all others alphabetically.
I found another box of stamps in our spare room that I will add to the list. I have been working in my stamp room and have wheels, paper, ribbon, and lots of accessories too.

I am so proud of my sister!

This is the card that was one of the make and takes. It is made with so saffron and certainly celery and uses the subtles designer paper pack. Note the paper piecing for the tea kettle.

My sister Joyce from KC, Mo area signed up to be a demonstrator and had her kickoff party on Sat. She had 15 people attend and probably 6-10 people who weren't able to come, but want to be invited next time. She didn't get any firm bookings, but has several interested and about 5 so far interested in starting a club! We had 2 fun projects and everyone had a great time!!!

Mini top note scrapbook

I get a monthly magazine from Stampin'Up! with lots of ideas and info. Recently someone made a mini album using this die and it got me to thinking. So here is mine complete with pictures. I used the Tags till Christmas set for most of it, but also used the tree from Paisley Prints and the snowflake single stamp and punch. The front is embossed with the northern frost embossing folder as is another inside page. This was so fun, I can't wait to try it again with a more generic floral one. How fun though to make one for baby or school pics! Call me to schedule a get together with your friends to make your own mini album.

Occasions Mini Sneak Peek

Here are several cards made using the Build A Blossom stamp set and coordinating punch. There are 4 different sizes of flower petals and 2 sizes of leaves as well as 2 centers. The NEW Framed Tulip embossing folder is used to add a border all the way around this card. Colors used are melon mambo, certainly celery, and so saffron.
I stacked the 6 petals and punched a hole through all of them and added a brad, then was able to easily fan them out to shape this flower. I used melon mambo on pink pirouette card stock. The petals are shaped and a dimensional is used to add height. The card base is luscious Cherry Cobbler.
This card uses rich razzleberry and NEW pear pizazz. I layered 3 punches for the sentiment. The designer paper is from the occasions mini and is called Springtime Vintage. It has lots of colors and beautiful patterns.
This yellow is not SU cardstock, it was some I had and used for my first try. The ink is SU daffodil delight though. I used the scallop border punch on several layers to complete this card.

Family Christmas

We celebrated Christmas at our daughter and son-in-law's new home. We were able to have everyone there, but the granddaughters had to leave early for another family Christmas on their dad's side. I've included a picture of the whole family as well as one of my husband and myself. The 4 girls belong to #1 daughter in the front, Dylan's mom is #2 daughter (she is holding him) and Cooper the cat belongs to #3 daughter in the back.

Missing in action

I have been terribly remiss about posting and have several (excuses), er reasons why.

#1 Our desktop computer died and my laptop does not accept my compact flash card from my camera and I haven't been able to even load pictures directly from my camera even though I tried to use the installation cd that came with the camera. I used to load pictures to the desktop, then to a flash drive, then to my laptop. REALLY!!

#2 I had surgery (again!!) Nov 8th for a torn meniscus in my right knee. We spent Nov 9th-16th in Branson without my computer access. I recovered well and am back to work, thanks for asking!

#3 My sister came to visist for 10 days and I just didn't have time to post. Of course she's been gone for 2 weeks, but duh what can I say?
