Fabulous Florets Samples

These are samples of cards made with the Fabulous Florets stamp set (123025 wood $23.95 or 123027 clear $17.95) that I received as swaps at convention. Many of them also use the Beyond the Garden designer paper (122342 $10.95)as well and some use the new colored embossing powder. I just love the bright colors.

 This is a diorama card
I thought this was a little busy, but my husband loves it

This uses the reinker spread technique for the flower
 So classy with the black
Thia is the double embossing technique
Uses the tangerine tango, (123106 $4.75) wild wasabi, (123224 $4.75) and melon mambo, (123223 $4.75) embossing powders
I made these last 2 cards. I like this one, but thought it was too busy, so I reworked it into the card below
I hid the Flower Garden embossing folder (123113 $7.95) image inside, see below

Evolution of convention swap card

I'm sorry these are out of order, but read the info under each card to see the progression. I'm not sure if you can tell from the photos, but I used the red glimmer paper behind the berries. Click on each card to enlarge it for details.

This was my second attempt. I changed from one berry (punched berry) to three, but I hadn't yet added the red 2 1/2" circle behind the sentiment and it still needed something.

 This is my final project!
This was my first card. I only punched one berry in each point of the medallion, but I decided it needed three. I also hadn't added the red circle behind the sentiment, but I fixed this one before I took the photo.

Flower Garden textured impressions embossing folder

I used the "Flower Garden" embossing folder to make thse 3 cards. I wanted to add color so brayered color on the folder before I ran the paper through the bigshot. In this first one, I added the color to the "wrong side" (debossed side) of the folder, oops! Well then I tried it on the "right side" (embossed or raised side) and guess what? I like the wrong side better!!!

This card also uses the scallop trim border punch and 1/8" taffeta ribbon. Then I added a border with five of the new 3/4" x 15/16" oval punch in celery. I also punched the edge of the card with the scallop trim border punch and added a strip of celery inside that is also punched with the scallop trim border punch. You can't see it but it is in there.

Even though I like the other side better, this is not a bad look. Not sure that I would color the stems again though. The simplistic look to this card focuses the attention on the embossed flowers.

This time I used the "wrong or debossed" side but I only brayered color on the raised portion of the folder. I did use the aqua painter to add some color to the stems and leaves. The rest of the card is over the top with the addition of punched boho blossoms and leaves. Hard to see, but I added some smooch illuminate topcoat to the inside of the flowers

Stamp Sale/New Catalog Open House

I have retired stamps and accessories from 9 yrs of being a Stampin'Up! demonstrator and some non SU items as well. It is time for them to find some new homes, so I am having a 1/2 price sale!!! See retired items for sale page at the top of my blog just under the header. The list is not updated, so some items are gone. You will pay just 1/2 of those prices and no tax or shipping, so definitely a bargain!! I will be adding some recently retired stamps as well.

Sale will be Fri 7/1 6-9pm, Sat 7/2 10am-2pm, Fri 7/8 6-9 pm and Sat 7/9 12n-3pm. I will keep the stamps for sale setup so you may also come by appointment anytime during that week. Bring a friend.

I will also have the new catalogs for you to see as well as new "In" Colors and some new designer paper and stamps, punches, etc. RSVP and I will have a free make and take for you as well. Reserve your catalog for just $5 or get one free by hosting a party.

There is a great new hostess plan that I'm sure you all will be excited about. Come to find out.

Scratch and Sniff

Tart and Tangy is a set with a strawberry, cherries, apple, and orange. It is 12.95 and will be retiring June 30th. It is perfect for the scratch and sniff technique. Use unsweetened koolaid mix and clear embossing powder with versamark and classic ink.

The Open Sea/Nautical Expedition

I got this set and designer paper from the mini catalog and have been playing. The last picture is the inside of the card. The second card is taken directly from pg 10 of the mini catalog with minor changes. I used the bakers twine also. The designer paper is so much nicer in real life than it is shown in the catalog.

Happy Birthday to Me

I celebrated my birthday with my stamp club, but gave them the gift (free shipping) if they brought me a card. I asked them to not write inside of them, so I could use them for my missionary cards. Check out the fun cards I got!!

I'm Back

I'm back. My computer was down for 5 weeks and I lost everything on my hard drive including pictures.  Then when I tried to post, I couldn't get anything to post. I asked on Splitcoaststampers as well as the blogger forum and someone finally gave me an answer to fix things.
