Guy Greetings with Adventurebound DSP

Guy Greetings made it into the new catalog (✿◠‿◠)
Here are some cards made using that set and the adventurebound paper stack that is GONE
We made this one in May for club, I will be sending mine to my Dad for Father's Day.

This uses vellum as an overlay with a piece cut out of the middle as a highlight! Love this look.
 Love this sweater look
I used Open Sea for this card, I thought the blue paper
looked like water. The happy was cut out of an ad when I was first trying out my Hello You thinlets, blended perfectly.

I wasn't seeing so well doing this at night and thought this dsp had a brown tint, so used Early Espresso ink. In the daylight the paper is more grey, oh well.

Another Love is Kindness card

Sad this is gone now, such a fun stamp and easy to color. This is similar to another card that I posted a few months ago, but in a different color. I also added a piece of doily. The stripes are made with a stamp from Painted Petals, also gone-more sadness:(  If you look closely you can see that we used an aquapainter to fill in the background with Blushing Bride

Berry Basket of Flowers

This is another card that we made for club in April. It uses one basket piece and one top edge piece. It is folded so that it stands up. There is a piece of whisper white with the flowers that pulls out for the sentiment and message. The Crumb Cake basket is stamped with hardwood in Baked Brown Sugar. The flowers are from the FLower Patch Bundle with stamps and framelits. We only had to cut out the thin flower on the top in Strawberry Slush, all the rest were framelets. Colors are Pool Party, Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, and Crushed Curry.
Of course I had to add a butterfly from Papillon Potpourri.

Celebrate Today and Bokeh technique

We made this card at club in April. I'm pleased to say that it this stamp set has carried over into the new catalog. YAY!!
Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, and Coastal Cabana are sponged on my card front, then I added circles with white craft ink for the bokeh effect. I love the confetti overlay stamp for the balloon, but it covered up part of the "HAPPY", so I used a marker and just colored part of the confetti. Note how the confetti for both cards is a bit different.

One of my customers added the birthday stamp to the balloon and I liked that idea. Bermuda Bay sequins made a perfect string for the balloon with a few stray sequins for embellishment.

Another LOVE IS KINDNESS card

One of the last of the Texas cards
The background for this card is made using the 3 lines stamp from Painted Petals. I made several of these cards using different colors
while we were on our Texas trip, but gave some of them away already before I took pics. A really easy way to add dimension is to stamp, color, and cut out a few blooms and pop them up with dimensionals. I did not do that with this card, but did with a
few of the others. This card uses Coastal Cabana with some Bermuda Bay accents. Notice the shading using the lightest
of the Coastal Cabana blendabilities.

BEST DAY EVER card

Another Texas card, perhaps you noticed that many of them were monochromatic. I think it worked out that way due to the limited supplies that I took, but I do like the look.
The card base is Coastal Cabana with a Bermuda Bay layer and butterfly. Stamped images are from Best Day Ever, another SAB stamp set FREE with a $50 purchase. Coastal Cabana ribbon from Best Year Ever Accessory Pack adds the finishing touch. I used the smallest pearls colored with Coastal Cabana Blendabilities for the flowers. I love the random dots for the background.

SWALLOWTAIL card

Another Texas card
I started with the lines stamp from Butterfly Basics and stamped it on Pistachio Pudding card base with Baked Brown Sugar ink. I really didn't like it until I added the Swallowtail stamped in Baked Brown Sugar with a Pistachio Pudding layer and some Baked Brown Sugar banners. I used Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding markers and highlighted the lines on the Swallowtail image. So much prettier in real life!

PAINTED PETALS cards

More Texas limited supply cards.
I love Baked Brown Sugar and Strawberry Slush together. These flowers are so beautiful, they have great shading.
If I had it to do over, I would have done something different with the layers for this Pistachio Pudding card. The dsp banner layer kind of gets lost when I added the stamped stems. The butterfly here is vellum embossed with black and colored from the back with Crushed Curry
Another Strawberry Slush card using the tulips stamps and row of dots from this set. Retired Lucky Limeade bakers twine was wrapped around the layer with a bow.

Using tags on cards

This card uses the new Note Tag Punch and the Painted Petals stamp set both from the Occasions catalog to make this easy yet beautiful card. The ribbon colors are Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, and Coastal Cabana from Best Year Ever Accessory Pack-FREE during SAB with a $50 purchase.
Lots of Strawberry Slush going on here: cardstock, dsp, markers, ink, and thick bakers twine! Flower is from butterfly Basics. Sentiments for both cards are from Delightful Dozen.

More BUTTERFLY BASICS collage cards

I made these cards while we were in Texas on vacation (watch in future days for more cards), so had limited supplies-no Bigshot or dies. I had a few of the butterfly thinlets precut. I love the collage look achieved with this set.
This first card has a base of Bermuda Bay and also uses the circle stamps from Painted Petals set. I colored the central flower with blendabilities then cut it out and popped it up. It took some time, not something I would want to do if I was making lots, but I love the look for one card. This butterfly is several layers of waxed paper that I used when I cut out the butterfly. They seem to stick together until there are 3-4 layers that forms a nice thicker butterfly. I colored it with coastal cabana blendabilies.
This card has a bit of a different feel due to more muted colors.
I used 2013-2015 In Colors with some Crushed Curry thrown
in the mix. I distressed the edges on both cards, goes with
the collage effect.

Birthday card

At Heartland Stampers Club, Sandy Kavenaugh taught us how to make card that spell out something. I made this Valentine Birthday card for Angela. I think I could have meade the letters look a bit better, but for my first attempt, I am happy. Her favorite colors are pink and green, so I used some retired DSP for the covers and melon mambo and lucky limeade ink to match. If you think this is something you would like to try, let me know and I can tech you how.

February club cards

These are the 3 projects we made at club last month.
Blendabilities on white embossing on black cardstock. How bright and impressive! And the nicest thing is that you can go outside of the lines and it doesn't show on the black. The stamp set is Big Day FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 order. Inside sentiment says "and perhaps a little ice cream! Happy Birthday". Love the Irresistibly Yours DSP (also FREE during SAB). I used the stars pattern here and sponged with Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Coastal Cabana. The white floss is dyed with a few drops of melon mambo reinker in a bit of rubbing alcohol. It dries fast too since it was alcohol. I had these daffodil delight buttons left from a previous SAB
Treat bag made using Treat Bag Thinlet and Festive Designer Kraft Paper Rolls (still available on the Clearance Rack) and Butterfly Basics stamp set and thinlets. I love this set and have been making lots of collage images with it. Colors used are the 2014-2016 In Colors: Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow, and Lost Lagoon. So many things you could do with this bag!
This last card uses Sheltering Tree and Woodgrain embossing folder. Colors are Wild Wasabi and Soft Suede with a bit of Pacific Point for the bicycle and Rose Red for the tulips. Shelli showed how to use the backside of the leaves image to make an outline. Love it! The bicycle is cut out and popped up.

New Sale-A-Bration freebies

Making paper beads from Stampin'Up! blog

Pretty Paper Beads

Did you ever roll paper beads with toothpicks when you were a kid? I just rediscovered this fun, little craft—and making them is kind of addictive.
Just wrap a long, triangular piece of paper around a wooden skewer until you have a bead. Adhere the tail-end of the paper to the bead using a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then cover the bead using a thin coat of Mod Podge. Let your bead dry.
After making a few dozen of these little cuties I started to think of Easter eggs . . . and one of our new occasions catalog stamp sets—For Peep’s Sake, item # 138557—came to mind.
1 I used the Ornate Tag Topper Punch (item # 137416) on the top and bottom of this Easter favor to create fancy edges.

2
3To make the beads, I used Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper (item # 137784),Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper (item # 138633), and the Rich Razzleberry designs from the Brights Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Stacks(item # 130134).
Beginning at the top of a sheet of 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, score every inch on one side; on the opposite side, begin 1/2" from the top and score every inch. Draw diagonal lines between the staggered score lines to create triangles.

4
5
The beads don’t have to be rolled up perfectly; their irregular look is part of their charm!

6When my friend, Bonnie, saw my paper beads drying, she said that they reminded her of an insect collection. My immediate thought was: butterflies!

7
8There are many ways to make paper beads from Designer Series Paper. Just do an Internet search for “paper bead templates” and you’ll find plenty! P.S. If you use elastic cord to thread your beads, put a dot of Crystal Effects (item # 101055) on the knot and allow it to dry. That will help it stay secure.
Have fun!

Final January club project

We made covers for a 2 year calendar in the past and I had a request to make another one. The cover is crumb cake with honeycomb embossing. I absolutely love the Butterfly Basics stamp set and coordinating butterfly thinlets. You will for sure see more from this set. I offered 3 color choices all with Pear Pizazz accents: Blackberry Bliss, Strawberry Slush, and Tempting Turquoise. What is your favorite color?

January club projects

January is always my hostess/customer appreciation where everyone gets prizes and we make extra projects.
I love this lotus blossom stamp and the Irresistibly Yours dsp used on this first card. Both are FREE with a $50 order through the end of march. Watch for more of both.
The designer paper used for this pinwheel card is another FREE Sale-A-Bration offering. Start with an 8" square and score from 3" on each side using the diagonal scoring plate. Cut out the triangles then score on the straight scoring board at 1" to the cutout area on each side, then fold. I need to add the picture of the inside of the card.

We used the treat bag thinlet die to make this Valentine's day card. The sentiment is from Pennant Parade. I stamped the banner with the red dots with another stamp in the Pennant Parade set.
Red, Black, and Gold is so classy!
This is the inside of the card. I "heart" you and the red heart are from Pictogram Punches. Gold washi tape and gold shimmer hearts add the finishing touch.

LOVE IS KINDNESS

I recently got this stamp and decided to play today.
I used Daffodil and Olive Bendabilities then fussy cut it out. I wanted the tulips to be the main focus so just added a couple of banners. The dotted banner is Irresistibly Yours DSP only available during Sale-A-Bration and is FREE when you purchase $50. It is white on white embossed in several designs, but becomes even more beautiful with color added with sponge or spritzing.
I got my inspiration for this card with the doily from Jen Timko, but changed it up a bit. I colored the tulips with Melon Mambo and Old Olive blendabilities. The Strawberry Slush thick bakers twine matched perfectly.
