Messy desk challenge

I cleared some misc stuff off my desk and had my club members take some items home to make a card. 3 ladies brought a card back besides me. All the cards have a very eclectic look and feel. Thanks ladies for playing along!
Lynn used lots of elements. She embossed the scallop circle, frame, and butterflies. Then she sprayed some shimmer mist.
I've already posted this one of mine.
By Melba using frame, butterflies, and flower outlines. Love the black background!

Marlene used the frames as well and came up with a beach scene. She did a great job sponging the background. The final touch is the butterfly that was a desk "find".

Sunburst technique

I've been seeing this idea all over the place, so decided to try this for myself. I played first with scrap paper, then used some dsp from SAB this year. There are many variations to this, I am going to be doing some more playing. I added the arrows using the first photopolymer set that came out. I still need to play with it more!

Another card made with scraps from my stamping table/room

I used a whisper white card base and some pieces that had shapes punched out. I save most of my scraps because I can punch small shapes from the edges, but today they became a card in and of themselves. I added a butterfly, buttons, a piece of ribbon that is from 2012 Sale-A-Bration, several punched scallop circles, and used the round array stamp set with coordinating punch for the sentiment as embellishments. The picture below show the envelope that I stamped with the round array stamp set. Colors used are calypso coral, Baja breeze, daffodil delight, and cherry cobbler.

More cards in the mail

Not so thrilled with having surgery or an accident, but cards in the mail make it worth it. Thank you to all my friends for taking time to make and mail these!
This is from Lynn for my husband when he had his biking accident last month. She used the honeycomb embossing folder, hearts a flutter stamp set and framelits, and the pinwheel sizzlet.
This card is from Paula just as a thank you for binding the catalog for my customers. She used washi tape on a kraft card and on the envelope as well. I have to admit, when I first heard about washi tape, I couldn't see what the hype was all about! But now that SU carries it and I have had a chance to play I understand. We will use the gingham garden washi tape on a card today at club.
Marlene sent this happy healing card. She used a window sheet/acrylic page for the front of the card and ran it through an embossing folder first. Paula taught this technique at the Heartland Stampers club last week, but I missed it due to shoulder surgery last Fri. How fun!
Lynn sent this get well card. She used the hearts a flutter stamps and framelits, also the butterfly embosslit. Lots of sponging gives this card character.

Secret Garden

It took me awhile to feel the love for this stamp set and coordinating framelits, but I have jumped on the bandwagon. Here are some cards I have made using this set.
This technique is called puzzle piece resist, I found the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers, but saw a similar card using secret garden by Joan Jeffrey. I made this in about 15 min, the longest time was deciding on flower colors. I used gumball green, pacific point, rich razzleberry, and pumpkin pie for flowers and leaves, and pool party for the background. I think the black layer really makes everything pop.
This is my first shadowbox card, below is the second. Only difference is the oval framelit window vs the labels framelit window. Which do you like better? We are making this at club tomorrow.
This last card below is the very first one I made using this set. Most of the flowers are stamped on vellum, colored from behind, then flipped over onto a foam piercing mat and rubbed with stylus for dimension. The flowers in the lower right are the middle of the flower on top. That flower can be cut into 3 layers, as I did with this card. I used new In Colors: pistachio pudding, strawberry slush, and cantaloupe crush.
