More Swallowtail

I'm really enjoying this butterfly, it is so easy to stamp and emboss several at once, then use to make finished cards. You will probably see more later!!
This card is really beautiful in real life, as with all pictures on my blog, if you click on it, it will enlarge to show more detail.  I stamped the butterfly in versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. Then I used sponge daubers and added color. I started with pool party in the middle and added wisteria wonder on the outside, it needed a third color, so I added so saffron in the middle. I used both the elegant butterfly and the bitty butterfly punch and wonderful wings embosslit.
This card started out similarly, I decided to start with so saffron in the middle, but it did not give enough definition, so I added some calypso coral, then went to pool party for the middle and wisteria wonder for the outside edge. I didn't like the coloring on the rest of the layer, so cut out the butterfly. Not sure I like this look as well, but I forged ahead. I had a spare piece of pool party already embossed with the framed tulip emdossing folder. I tried adding a rectangular layer, but liked the circle better.

Swallowtail

I finally put some ink to my new swallowtail stamp. Actually I used versamark and embossing powder on them all. I am posting 2 today and have 2 more for tomorrow. This stamp is in the Spring catalog and 17.95 for the wood mount or 13.95 for the clear. The only thing with clear is you need a large block for this stamp. It is 16.95, so I purchased this stamp in wood mount. I did not buy the bundle of clear blocks from SU, and this is the only block that I do not own.
This card is a CASE from amyk3868 on Splitcoaststampers. I did make some changes, but liked how she used Chocolate Chip CS with pool party and wild wasabi embossing powder.
I like the simple elegance of gold and white. The layer is brushed gold cardstock.

3x3 cards

I had a few products that I wanted to play with so made some 3x3 cards.
This uses the pinwheel die that is only $4.95 and cuts out these cute little pinwheels with the holes already made. I used a toothpick for the stick. The designer paper is from Sycamore Street, FREE Sale-A-Bration choice with a $50 order.
This uses the Petite Curly Label Punch, also available from SAB and the Sycamore Street designer paper. I stamped and punched 2 pieces from the Pretty Petites stamp set, also available from SAB. I used the itty bitty shapes punch pack for the flower on the top upper left of the card.
This uses Sunshine and Sprinkles designer paper and Oh, Whale! stamp set, also the Happy Whale clearlit die.

February club cards

This card uses 6 different Sale-A-Bration products (any of which can be yours FREE with a $50 order). The designer paper is Sycamore Street, the ribbon and buttons, pretty petites stamp set, and coordinating petite curly label punch, happy birhtday is from itty bitty banners, and there is an inside sentiment from vintage verses. The base color is Island indigo and the punched colors are island indigo, summer starfruit, tangerine tango, pool party, and rich razzleberry. The ribbon and button are tangerine tango. We used versamark and white embossing powder on the for you stamp then punched.
This is a viewmaster card with 6 different images that can be viewed in the window. It is quite a few steps in the making, but very rewarding when complete. The base card is 5x10" folded in half. The daffodil layer is 4 3/4" square. The white scallop circle is a bigshot die. All from the Spring catalog are the designer paper Sunshine and Sprinkles, the melon mambo ribbon, and images for the viewmaster are from the set Spring Sampler. We used the chevrom embossing folder on the daffodil layer. Colors used are Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, and Daffodil Delight.

More cards

I belong to a stamping club "Heartland Stamper" that meets monthly at Urbandale Library. We take turns teaching the class and Anne had us make these 3 cards.
The focal point for this one uses stamping, coloring in the flowers, wheeled music notes, then embossed with an embossing folder and the bigshot. We then sponged with champagne mist
glimmer paint.
A valentine card. The designer paper is from the print poetry pack in the Spring catalog.
This is a triple time stamping card. I need to finish this one up with some ribbon and a sentiment.

A valentine card in the mail from Marlene.
A get well card from Teena

Using up some of last years SAB designer paper

We had a missionary family coming to church and I always give them a packet of 10 asst cards, so I decided to use some of my stash from last year's SAB to make some cards. I only got 5 made so had to supplement them with my extra cards.

I used the hearts a flutter framelits from the Spring catalog to make a banner and a new word set that I just got called One in a Million p. 135 of 2012-13 catalog. The inside sentiment says "that makes you one in a million". There are 10 sentiments in 5 pairs for 18.95 clear mount or 26.95 wood.
I used papillon potpourri, the beautiful wings embosslit, and both butterfly punches. The newest "bitty butterfly" punch is in the spring catalog, 15.95, and works with papillon potpourri and for a limited time SAB stamp set Bloomin Marvelous , could also be used with designer paper and no stamping.
I love how this one turned out. I used my windows framelits for the first time (pool party layer), added a square of cardstock for a layer, then the 1 3/4" circle punch. I used the once marker colored stamp for the circle image, "huffed" on it for the envelope, then "huffed" once more for the front sentiment.

I made 2 more cards, but didn't take pictures, similar to what I've done before using the postage stamp punch and 4 squares of designer paper, added flowers and a butterfly.

SO pull out some paper, stamps, or embellishments that need some love. And CREATE!!

More cards in the mail

Thanks to those who took time to send a card. I love all the cards that I have received, but the handmade ones are special!
From Marlene, there was a snowflake on here as well that I found today, must have fallen off before I took the picture. This is my kind of winter, pictures of others enjoying the outside.
Sent from my dear friend Peggy Jones (my convention roommate!) in Arizona.
Made by Marilyn Veik. She had one knee replaced last April, so gave me some good advice when we chatted.

Inspiration Notebook

The last project we made in Jan, again everyone got to choose designer paper and embellishments. Marlene made one and keeps special cards, notes, ideas, etc in hers, so I decided this would be fun for all to have. I used the wonderful wings embosslit, tasteful trims die, and delicate doilies sizzlet all with the BIGSHOT! Love my bigshot!!!

Bookmarks made with hair elastics

We made these at stamp club in Jan as well. Each person got to choose their own ribbon, buttons, and flower colors. I made these 3. If you'd like to know how to make these, I can teach a class for you and your friends.
This uses the fun flower die and an in color brad.
I used the mixed bunch stamp set and blossom punch for this
This uses flowers from the retired pretties kit, colored with pastels.

    More Amore Suite Projects

These are projects from classes that my sister Joyce from KC recently offered. She found the mailboxes at Target, not sure if there are any left.

A valentines day insert for the shadowbox frame. Also shown inside the frame, but a bit of glare on the glass, so I took pics outside the frame too. She is such a perfectionist with much attention to detail. I'm glad she is too far away to steal my customers. LOL!
