Card class

I was asked to teach a card class at 2 different retirement villages. I had 8 ladies in one group and 6 in the other. We made 4 cards, 2 of each design. The rainbow butterfly card a few posts back was the first card and this Oh hello is the other card that we made. I had seen a similar design, not sure who to credit, actually my sister sent me a picture of it. I added the scallop circle behind the white oh hello layer and the white doily layer.

I had them stamp the envelope with the flower and this is the inside of the card. A bit challenging to use the marker several times to stamp the flower, but they did it!
I made up these stamp boxes that I got from the clearance rack for their supplies and then for them to use to keep their cards. Simple design, but they liked them. I used all different colors from the brights paper stack.

Hardwood trellis

This is the first card that I made, I decided it was a bit busy and the trellis got lost behind all the leaves and flowers. I love the pumpkin pie butterfly stamped with early espresso ink.

This is the card that I finally made for club last month. I added the grass at the bottom later as my fringe scissors came later. I liked cutting the hardwood to make the fence. Amazing how much one small change can make.
This card was inspired by Veronica Kettle from Stampin' Connection, our demonstrator website. She used yellow flowers with a brown center to look like sunflowers, but I wanted colors that were more "springy".

cards in the mail

Everyone loves receiving cards in the mail, and I am no exception. Thank you ladies!
Lynn sent this beautiful card for our 40th anniversary, she added lots of details, including the white embossed vellum flower. Using the corner rounder on opposite sides of the dsp adds an elegant touch.
Paula sent this card using many elements: chevron punch; tape it, gorgeous grunge, and six sided sampler stamp sets, and the hexagon punch. I love the eclectic, collage look.

Finishing touches added to cards made in Arizona

This just needed a few rhinestones, colored with a sharpie
I don't think I even added a picture of this card since I had to come home and add the center deco label framelits. More gorgeous grunge and petite petals!
I added the sentiment and a few rhinestones
 Sentiment only added
I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to add the sentiment 3 times
All this needed was a few sequins to bring out the gold layer behind the sentiment

NEW fringe scissors

This is a card that I made with the new fringe scissors. I used a base of pirouette pink, then fringe colors are-blushing bride, melon mambo, rose red, then raspberry ripple. A flower with scallop circles and some ribbon finish it off. The ombre look is so popular now, such an easy way to make a card!
This is a card that I received in a swap also using an ombre look and the fringe scissors. Colors are white, pink pirouette, strawberry slush, and rose red, I think. Again some ribbon, a butterfly, and rhinestones on the sentiment. Beautiful!

Swap from Catalog Launch

I haven't posted lately because I couldn't get my photos to transfer to my computer. I thought that I just needed a new adaptor to transfer pics from my photo card to my computer, but when I bought the new adaptor, it still wouldn't work and said that my card was corrupt. So I had to pull out a new card and retake pics.

I planned a swap and these are cards from the 10 ladies who participated. They were to use all current merchandise with at least two layers and an embellishment, so fun to get new ideas! Thanks to all who participated, the rest of you who attended the Des Moines launch missed out! The card that I swapped is the butterfly rainbow card that I posted 2-3 posts down. I changed the background embossing folder to fancy fan to make everything current.

Butterfly Rainbow

This is one of the cards that I designed for 2 different card classes last week. It uses one of my all time favorite stamp sets "Papillon Potpourri" with coordinating punch. My butterfly colors are pear pizazz, marina mist, perfect plum, strawberry slush, crisp cantaloupe, and so saffron all stamped with black ink. Lots of fruit going on here;) I used the retired clouds embossing folder with soft sky cardstock, and a black layer on pool party card base. The sentiment is also retired "Simple Salutations", but you could use anything else that you have. I finished the card with lots of rhinestone bling.
