Merry Christmas to all

I'd like to take a moment to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. May we all remember that we celebrate this day because of Jesus birth. But also remember that this day would mean nothing if it weren't for His death, burial, and resurrection in which He paid the penalty for my sins and yours.

I'm adding family pictures from our Christmas celebration this year

Christmas cards in the mail

I received this card from Debbie Jastrom, a demonstrator that I roomed with at SU convention one year. Not sure how much is SU, but a neat card.
From Dorris. I love the simplicity that allows you to focus on the message. She used core'dinations cardstock then sanded it so the frame would stand out.
This card is from Jackie. I love the layering and sponging to again draw the attention to the tree.
Lynn made the card and used the snowflake die that is now retired, but still much loved. Very sparkly in real life.
My friend Peggy who lives in Arizona sent this card. We have roomed together many times for SU conventions and I have visited her in Az. The coloring is gorgeous and sparkly and I LOVE the use of the star confetti punch. May I say "again" I love the star confetti punch!!!

I just finished addressing my cards and put them in the mail yesterday. I doubt anyone is surprised by that news!!!

More hexagon hive thinlet cards

Colors taken from Moonlight DSP: hello honey, lost lagoon, and Basic Grey. Flowers from Petite Petals and Flower Shop.
I cut a stencil with the hexagon hive thinlet and sponged through it with Rose Red, Crushed Curry, and Chocolate Chip. Small images from Honeycomb Hello stamp set.

Building Block Card

We made this card in Sept as our special fold card for club. It uses Cherry Cobbler Coredinations paper, Garden Green, Baked Brown Sugar cardstock and dsp, and Whisper White. The directions for the card call for 4 blocks inside, but I chose to use 3. Stamp sets are Perfect Pennants (with banner framelits) and Petite Petals (with punch). Dimensions for this card are 51/4 x12, scored at 4 and 8" with a finished size of 4x5 1/4.  One of my customers Tonya added some leftover pieces from the hexagon hive thinlet on the inside as arrows. I love my clever ladies!

Blendabilities cards

The leaves for this card are also from Kinda Eclectic stamped with black memento ink then colored with Old Olive blendabilities. The flowers from Flower Shop and Petite Petals stamp sets are also stamped with memento black ink and colored with Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Pumpkin Pie blendabilities then punched using coordinating punches.
This card uses the Back to Black dsp colored in with blendabilities.
Sentiments on the front and inside of the card are from Amazing Birthday stamp set.

Kinda Eclectic

A card we made in club back in Sept, I think. I wanted to use Kinda Eclectic stamp set and the Moonlight dsp paper stack, so this is what I came up with. I kept adding elements until I was happy. Love the gold edged doily (versamark and gold embossing powder)! Throw in some stamped vellum, washi tape, lost lagoon ribbon, and gold sequins. I separated the gold bakers twine to come up with the shiny gold portion to twist behind the thx.
Inside of the card, I made the thinlet into a landscape card vs the portrait shape of the thinlet if used as made.
Another card made with this set. I CASEd this from someone on the demonstrator website "Stampin' Connection". I'm sorry I don't always write down names when I copy a design. The strip of circles is stamped several times on watercolor paper with versamark and clear embossed then color added (emboss resist technique): new in colors Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, and Tangelo Twist.

Paper Pumpkin NOEL card

Stampin'Up! offered this kit as an option for demonstrators, so I took them up on it. I cut the red striped card base into strips and added a Real Red base for this version. This is one of the cards the ladies made at my recent class at a retirement village. I was afraid it would ruin the card if they got the sentiment stamped wrong on the NOEL banners and I didn't have any extra, so I added the silver glimmer paper strip and a very vanilla strip to stamp on. I cut the sewn strip of stars in half instead of wrapping it all around the banner. So I have more red striped cardstock and stars to make more cards!

Oh, the ladies had a great time making special cards for family and friends!

Lots of stars card

I saw a card similar to this, but can't find it now to credit it back. She used different dsp that I didn't have, but I didn't let that stop me. This is Candlelight Christmas dsp that "was" on the clearance rack. I love how she used the confetti star punch on one side of the circle. (If you haven't figured out by now that I love the confetti star punch, I'll say it for you. "I love the confetti star punch"). Colors are Real Red, Old Olive, and Early Espresso with Very Vanilla. Frosted snowflake sequins from the All is Calm Suite were the finishing touch.
This is a card I made using the same design, but different dsp and sentiment for a totally different feel. The dsp is Moonlight paper stack from the current catalog and colors are from that dsp: Blackberry Bliss, Sahara Sand, and Hello Honey.

Endless wishes quick and easy card

I love the simplistic beauty of this card! It is an almost exact copy of a quick card I saw on pinterest, but I don't know who to credit for this. I did add the bannered sentiment.

Christmas Tree tag and bag

I made this while visiting my sister (and downline) in KC recently. It's all her design. Such a fun way to add bling using pearls, rhinestones, buttons, and brads. The bag is a polka dot gift bag punched with confetti star punch and a piece of Under the Tree dsp is tucked under. The tag is made with the scalloped tag topper punch. Finishing touches are gumball green ribbon, gold bakers twine, and a mini clothespin covered with the same Under the Tree dsp

Tree shaker card

This is the card we made for Nov club. The shaker part was made using a 2x3" ziplock bag and stars punched from the confetti star punch and some sequins. The background stars were made using a sponnge dauber and the star mask. Festival of trees was used to stamp the background tree and the sentiment. Colors are Real Red, Garden Green, and Daffodil delight.

Top Note treat bag

Another Dec stamp club project. I got the Mrs Field's cookies at Walgreens on Black Friday and was pleasantly surprised to see that they were individually wrapped. I told my downline and sister Joyce Lowe about them and this is her idea. She used SU 4x6" clear bags, but I didn't have that size so I used the clear envelopes with the flap cut off. They are 4.5x5.5" and worked quite well. The snowflakes on the cookie are the stamp set and framelits from last year's holiday catalog. I used endless wishes for the top note die stamping and sentiment. Most of the gals were going to eat the cookie and add a different treat in the bag.

Star luminary

We made these in club this month. I used cherry cobbler 4 1/4 x 10 1/2 and scored at 2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10". Then we cut out the stars with the middle star framelit after punching the top with the confetti star punch. Squares of vellum stamped with the star from White Christmas are in behind the star cutouts. This folds flat to mail or store away. Use a battery operated tealight for a soft glow.

Twist card (gift card holder)

I have been wanting to make one of these twist cards for a long time, and tried making one with whisper white cs, but then was at a loss for decorating it. I was again contemplating it to use as a gift card holder (it can be sent just as a card or you could tuck a photo in the pocket), and finally came up with the idea of using dsp for the actual card. Such a great idea if I do say so myself :)

I had 4x12" strips left over from last years winter frost dsp and they were perfect! I trimmed it to 4x11 then scored corner to corner then folded that in half. VOILA! you have your card and just need to add some embellishments. I used my sister's idea to punch stars in a tree made with white shimmer paper and then back it with silver glimmer paper. The silver strands are from our retired silver cord that I separated into 8 separate strands. It twists and lays better than the thicker piece. You could also separate the silver strand from our silver bakers twine and save the leftover twine to be used alone. In order for the inside sentiment to show up, I used a layer of WW.
Try this as a great way to use up some of that dsp you have just begging to be shown some love!

Winter diorama

I saw a similar card made by Kerry Bunting from Australia and fell in love with it. I made a few changes including size so it would fit into an A7 envelope (5 1/4 x 7 1/4). The card folds flat to 5x7 size. Her card used the entire middle panel of glimmer paper, but I just cut a frame as suggested by Linda Higgins who made the original card in reds and greens. I added the sentiment on the bottom front and an "all is calm snowflake" embellishment.
Dimensions are 5x8.5 for the front and back night of navy piece and 5x7 for the inside smoky slate piece. Score the navy 1.5" from each end and the slate 3/4" from each end. Use deco label framelits for the openings and silver glimmer frame.
The trees (pine from lovely as a tree) are embossed with a mixture of half white and half iridescent ice embossing powder. There is a mound of snow cut from dazzlings diamonds glimmer paper behind the houses from holiday home. Don't you absolutely love the lamppost?! That was fun to cut out :)

Screen divider card

Such a stunning card, but not hard to make! 6 x 12" scored at 3, 6, and 9". I used the decorative label punch partway in for the bottom and scallop border punch for the top. We used the envelope punch board to make the envelope since the finished size is 3x6.
This is the front with the envelope stamped. It uses the stamp set Thoughts and Prayers. I use this set all the time for the sentiments, but really haven't used the tree or vine much. Well this is the perfect way to use the vine stamp!
The whole card. I used the butterfly embosslit and the flower from the itty bitty punch pack which has now retired.
A panel of white added to the back of the card so you can write a note. Not only good for weddings, but this would be a great birthday card or really for any occasion.

Holiday Home and White Christmas

This is the other project we made in club last month. I love both of these sets and you can make so many scenes using them together. The moon was made with sponge and mask for circle, then sponge in sky and the ground. I can't believe how cute the little pumpkins are and you can add the jack o lantern face. Without the ghost, it is just a nice fall evening.

Mini coffee cups and perfect blend stamp set.

We made this card to go with the mini cup at club last month. This is a 3x3 size card. I used the splatter stamp from gorgeous grunge and an unside down glass starbucks bottle for the "coffee circles". The cup is stamped 3 times, once for the cup, once for the center band, and once for the lid (on shimmer paper).
Mini cup and holder. We filled the cup with candy. The cup holds 4 oz and is too small to add a gift card, but you could tuck one in behind the cup.

Christmas card class

First I must apologize for being away from blogging for so long. I had computer and internet issues, then have been moving from one deadline to the next, as I'm sure you all can relate to. But I hope to get back in the swing. Come back often as I am making many posts today, but will schedule them for future dates.

These 5 cards are from a class I offered Oct 25th.
This card was inspired by a window card that Amy Celona made. I added the car and tree and changed up the colors and greeting. It uses the stamp set White Christmas. I used hardwood background stamp for the window.
I'm not sure who to credit this idea, but I added the pool party base and used all is calm washi tape instead of dsp. LOVE the new all is calm snowflake embellishment. Stamp set is endless wishes.
I was inspired by a card made by Lynn Weiss for this one. It uses festival of trees stamp set and matching tree punch. I used iridescent ice on the raised tree and dazzling details lightly brushed on the background trees. Sentiment is from the good greeting set that we earned as demonstrator or free to hostesses in Sept and Oct. Snowflakes are from endless wishes set. I used various patterns from the all is calm dsp for the background. They all worked!
I saw Jan Tink's card similar to this and knew I had to CASE it! I made a few changes, but LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this step card made with holiday home stamp set and matching framelits. I made my own background paper for the left side using the smallest snowflake from endless wishes. The snow mounds are made using dazzling diamonds glimmer paper.
This is a flip card using the label thinlet. Again, not sure who to credit for this idea, I did extensive searches for card designs using Pinterest as well as Stampin Connection and Splitcoaststampers. I used northern flurry embossing folder, petite pairs for the sentiment, and the stamped snowflake is also from endless wishes. SIlver glimmer paper added some sparkle. The dsp is leftover from last years northern frost paper pack (I needed a lot the same).

Card class

I was asked to teach a card class at 2 different retirement villages. I had 8 ladies in one group and 6 in the other. We made 4 cards, 2 of each design. The rainbow butterfly card a few posts back was the first card and this Oh hello is the other card that we made. I had seen a similar design, not sure who to credit, actually my sister sent me a picture of it. I added the scallop circle behind the white oh hello layer and the white doily layer.

I had them stamp the envelope with the flower and this is the inside of the card. A bit challenging to use the marker several times to stamp the flower, but they did it!
I made up these stamp boxes that I got from the clearance rack for their supplies and then for them to use to keep their cards. Simple design, but they liked them. I used all different colors from the brights paper stack.

Hardwood trellis

This is the first card that I made, I decided it was a bit busy and the trellis got lost behind all the leaves and flowers. I love the pumpkin pie butterfly stamped with early espresso ink.

This is the card that I finally made for club last month. I added the grass at the bottom later as my fringe scissors came later. I liked cutting the hardwood to make the fence. Amazing how much one small change can make.
This card was inspired by Veronica Kettle from Stampin' Connection, our demonstrator website. She used yellow flowers with a brown center to look like sunflowers, but I wanted colors that were more "springy".
