Cards made with granddaughter Taylor

I made this one with first edition dsp and black embossing, then colored in with so saffron marker. Simple to make, but elegant
This is Taylor's butterfly card. We copied the layout of one I had made earlier. It still needs a small butterfly by the sentiment.
Taylor made this. I helped her a bit, but she chose dsp and colors. Note the added starfruit neckline and bottom ruffle.
I started with the color blocks, but Taylor chose the stamp and added the pool party layer at an angle. Originally we had the elephant on a white scallop, but I got some ink on it, so we cut it out and added the tangerine layer. I like it much better that way.
We each made a banner card using this years SAB Sycamore Street dsp. This is Taylor's, mine is below. We embossed the sentiment from Vintage Verses (SAB) to make it pop!

I used all the patterns from SAB Sycamore Street dsp and the postage stamp punch to make this card. The island indigo ribbon was also a selection from SAB.

A monochromatic card using summer starfruit cardstock and SAB Sycamore Street dsp. Taylor likes angles and put this card together.

Super Duper easy butterfly cards

I first saw this card made by Mary Fish. She used Note Cards and Envelopes from the catalog
(pg 160, twenty 3 1/2x 5" cards with envelopes for $5.95). She added a white layer and punched out the elegant butterfly then added dsp behind the butterfly and added a white punched bitty butterfly such as you see here. Aislinn Chapotelle added the idea of using embossing folders to the white layer. I added the colored layer between the white and the card and made mine full sized cards. Most I left blank so the sentiment can be added when needed. This card would work well for birthday, get well, thinking of you, thank you, even sympathy!

Uses perfect polka dots embossing folder. If you want a sentiment, can be added as a layer, or could have been stamped first, duh! The dsp is from last years SAB paper.
This uses elegant bouquet embossing folder and subtles dsp paper pack, bashful blue.
This dsp is from sunshine and sprinkles in the spring catalog. I added some color to the center of the flowers with an aquapainter.
Another elegant bouquet embossing folder and subtles dsp in pretty in pink with a touch of color
This is the first one I made before I added the colored layer behind. I used the elegant lines embossing folder and more of last years SAB dsp.
This dsp is from a hostess pack from last year. It is a great way to use up scraps. I turned my embossed layer upside down to punch the butterfly on the opposite side of this card. Just had to play a bit.

Another swallowtail card!

This is the final swallowtail card that I have made, but beware, there will be more! I can't get enough of it and it is so easy to use. This card uses first edition dsp and one of the pages talks about the butterfly! I stamped the swallowtail with marina mist ink and did not emboss. I stamped 3 butterflies from Papillon Potpourri with basic grey ink and colored using an aquapainter. I made marina mist seam binding by dying vanilla using marina mist reinker in water and soaking the ribbon. I had to keep adding a drop or two of reinker until it got me the color I wanted. When your ribbon reaches the desired color don't rinse when you take it out. Ask me how I know that, tehe!! My favorite part of this card is the irregularly gathered ribbon attachment. I just used a tape runner such as SU Snail and hand gathered the ribbon. Then I added 2 tags from Tiny Tags stamp set and the jewelry tag punch. Perfect!

All Dressed Up

All Dressed Up is a new set from the Spring catalog that has matching framelits. I had so much fun playing with this set that my sister had to talk me into getting. :) We made this card for club on Sat. It uses the flower trim for the skirt. The flowers can be colored using a sponge dauber, markers, spritzers, or using water and reinkers and soaking the flowers. We used a wee bit of color using the sponge dauber. We used the elegant bouquet embossing folder for the bodice of the dress and the vanilla piece on the bottom of the card. I took this picture before I added pearls for a necklace, I just wanted to be sure I had enough for my stampers.
This is a card I made for two of my friends who have March birthdays. The dress is stamped with melon mambo ink on pretty in pink cardstock. The mirror frame is made with the oval designer frames folder and the mirrored area is silver glimmer paper punched with the extra large oval punch.
I used the print poetry pack of designer paper for the next two dresses. The jacket is just the top of the dress trimmed down by hand. I used a scrap to make one then used that as a pattern. There are so many fun uses for this. The smallest pearls were used as buttons. The gumball green dsp cut with apothecary accents framelit is also from the print poetry pack.

Another print poetry dsp dress with a jacket. I used the small scallop flower from the itty bitty shapes punch pack to make the flower on the jacket. Snip into the flower at the scallops to make it stand up better. I did add pearls for a necklace.
This last dress is a wedding dress embossed using elegant lines embossing folder. I added length by cutting 3 more sets of scallops from the bottom of the embosslit. I used the apothecary accents framelit to cut the bashful blue dsp layer. The belt and sash are marina mist 1/8" taffeta ribbon. She needs some pearls as well for a necklace.
